Privacy

Your images stay on your device.

Last updated: October 31, 2026

The short version

ImageFade is a browser-based image editor. When you choose a picture, it is read from your device into the page, faded with the Canvas API, and exported back to your device. There is no image upload endpoint, no account system, and no watermarking service.

Images and files

Your image is never sent to a server by this website. Fading, selection, previewing and exporting all happen locally in your browser. Closing or reloading the tab discards the image and the effect settings held in memory.

Information we do store

We use your browser's localStorage for one preference only: whether you prefer the light or dark theme. This value stays on your device, is not linked to your identity, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

Hosting and technical logs

The site is served by a static hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages). Like most hosts, it may process standard request data such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. ImageFade does not combine that data with anything else or use it to identify visitors.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not set advertising or analytics cookies. If we add privacy-friendly analytics in the future, this page will describe it before the change takes effect.

Third-party links

Some pages may link to external resources. Once you follow a link, the privacy policy of that website applies instead of this one.

Children

ImageFade is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated date at the top of the page will change as well. Material changes will be described here rather than applied silently.
